Vintage Nassau Bahamas Straw Souvenir Hat

A strange bit of vintage travel ephemera! This novelty straw hat was a classic mid-century souvenir from Nassau, Bahamas, hand-woven from natural straw with "NASSAU" spelled out across the crown in dyed raffia. A whimsical woven figure, complete with a tiny straw face, arms, and her own little sun hat, perches at the top, surrounded by colorful raffia pom-pom tassels in red, gold, and green around the brim.
