Edwardian sterling silver wine coaster by the distinguished Birmingham silversmithing firm of George Nathan & Ridley Hayes. The lower band features engraved scrolling acanthus foliage and foliate cartouches, above it a gadrooned rope-twist border runs the full circumference, and the upper gallery is an open pierced band of interlocking scrollwork and foliate motifs. Twin rope-twist side handles complete the form.
