Deaccessioned from the collection of the Valentine Museum, Richmond, Virginia. 1930s black celluloid and jet hair ornament with openwork celluloid carving with scrolling acanthus vines, curling tendrils, and foliate arabesques. Large oval faceted jet cabochon flanked on each side by a smaller faceted jet stone set within the scrollwork.
Dimensions: 5" wide x 3½" tall Condition: Minor scuffing and scratching to celluloid, light wear to jet stones — consistent with age; all three stones present and intact, scrollwork fully intact.
